I’m Nigel Wheeler. I am a guitarist, composer/songwriter and guitar tutor.
I have worked professionally as a guitarist for over 25 years in which time I have performed as a live and studio session player in many different settings and styles. My playing ranges from solo finger style acoustic guitar, blues, rock, funk, jazz, country, bluegrass, western swing and gypsy jazz. I’m accomplished in most styles.
In the last 15 years I have become very active on the gypsy jazz scene and have worked intensively on developing my playing in this style. I have played in a variety of UK based gypsy jazz groups and now lead my own group Reverie Quartet.
As well as being a busy live performer and guitar tutor I also work from my home studio writing and producing original music for various projects and online music libraries. Some of my credits include original music for Sony, The Daily Star, Other Productions, Zone Music and more recently No Sheet Music.
I have been involved in the research and development for Cornell Amps for many years and have helped in the design of several of their amps including the highly acclaimed Traveller 5 and Explorer 10 and Voyager series amps, in addition to this I have also helped in the research of several of their guitar pedals including the Legacy Fuzz. I have produced several promotional pieces of original music / video for Cornell Amps and have also had the pleasure to demonstrate the Cornell product range at several trade shows.
I have been a guitar tutor for over 25 years, teaching all styles and levels from grade 1 through to grade 8 and beyond. I have also developed two 10 week guitar courses for beginners and intermediate levels that have received a lot of praise over the years. I have successfully run these courses at a number of TV and media companies including the BBC.
